New Indian Football League to Attract European Stars

These are exciting times for Football in India!!! First, Bayern Munich came to New Delhi with their full squad to play a friendly against the Indian National football team. And now their seems to be development which would mean that India will get its first Football League which would involve some of the best names in the World of Football. Albeit the fact that most of them would be veterans, it does not take any shine away from the tournament.

Some of the foreign players include in the auction have been one of the best few years ago. The names include Italy’s world cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro, Arsenal legend Robert Pires, former Bolton player Jay-Jay Okocha and Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler. Besides these players would Juan Pablo Sorin and Hernan Crespo of Argentina. Portugal’s Maniche will also be available for purchase. Spanish striker Fernando Morientes also seems heading towards a stint in India.

The auction for the players would start on 25 Feb 12. Around 30 players from around the globe and 6 coaches would be auctioned in Kolkata.

India is famous for its love of Cricket and the Indian Football League will be try to manage the success of IPL.
