Saif Ali Khan – Kareena Kapoor Wedding Date Confirmed

For more than a few weeks now, the Bollywood actor duo of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have been elusive and tight lipped over their wedding date. It has now been learnt from confirmed sources that Saif and Kareena are all set to tie the knot on October 17. This is the same date which Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore had released to the press months ago. So Saifeena had just been trying to keep the date as secretive as possible for no good reason then.

Confirmed sources say that Kareena has begun sending invites to her wedding mentioning the date as October 17. With just over a month to go, it looks set that this date should remain unchanged.

The wedding ceremony and the following reception are both set to be held in Mumbai – no surprises there. However, there is news that there might be another reception organised in Delhi as well, presumably to cater to the large guest list. The Delhi event will feature Saif’s relatives from the Pataudi family and political biggies from the capital. The Bollywood set will be seen in the Mumbai do.

The wedding itself will be a smaller affair to be attended by family and very close friends of Saif and Kareena.

For Kareena, designer Manish Malhotra will be ensembling her dresses for the much expected event of the year for Bollywood. The actress is expected to be seen in a red sari for the Mumbai reception. Thumbs up to that choice for Kareena does indeed look resplendent in red.

For the wedding itself though, Kareena is going to wear the same Sharara (A pair of loose, pleated trousers worn by women from the India and Pakistan, typically with a kameez and dupatta) that her mother-in-law wore for her wedding in 1969. (see image below)

But the big question is are we jumping the gun yet again on the wedding date of Kareena and Saif? A few have done that in the past… will they prove us wrong again? Let’s wait till we get some update on Saif and his sherwanis.
