Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno played out of his skins to deny Ukrainians Shakhtar Donetsk any sort of satisfaction in the second leg, at the Donbass Arena last night in the Champions League. Bayer had won the first leg 4-0. Leno, deservedly, received the man of the match award.
Post match, Leno said, “It was a very difficult game as Shakhtar played so well, especially in the first half. I had to make a few saves before the break but then we changed tactics and played better.”
The German goalkeeper, being groomed as the one for the future admitted Shakhtar had a lot of chances. He said “However, given the number of chances Shakhtar had, I must admit that we were lucky not to lose.”
