Luis Suarez has now scored 17 goals, the most any Liverpool player has scored before Christmas. He was yet again on the score sheet, something which all of us are now accustomed to. Two goals from him and one from Henderson were enough to answer the critics who questioned if they could manage without captain and playmaker Steven Gerrard and in form striker Daniel Sturridge after losing both to injury.
Young left back Flanagan was also an unlikely scorer with a sublime finish which even he could not believe he has executed. Suarez turned the provider for young Raheem Sterling yet again with a glossy assist and the pacy winger didn’t disappoint as he scored his second Premiere League goal of the season.
Liverpool are now into second place, just two points behind leaders Arsenal and ahead of third placed Chelsea on goal difference. While Tottenham have been humbled by the 0-5 defeat into the 7th place at their own home ground and look unlikely to qualify for Champions League this season with all the pressure on the manager Andre Vilas-Boas with a set of tough fixtures to come up including Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Brendan Rodgers have made Liverpool look like having more than an outside chance to win the title now and on the path to to make sure of champions league qualification although things could change in the unpredictable Barclays Premiere League.
