Recently Louis van Gaal suggested that Manchester United could be signing a ‘surprise’ striker during one of his press conferences in US. And Spanish daily Marca has now claimed that the surprise signing is Barcelona forward Pedro.
The Spaniard, who has been previously linked with a move to Liverpool, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain is now in Louis van Gaal’s wishlist. And the English giants want to sweep away the competition by making an official bid next week which would be worth 25-29 million Euros. The bid is said to meet Barcelona’s evaluation of the player.
Barcelona coach Luis Enrique has reiterated that he wishes for Pedro to stay at Camp Nou next season but is also aware that the 27-year-old wants to starts more games with the Euros coming.
The Spanish winger has appeared in 318 matches for the Catalan club, scoring 98 goals and providing 63 assists. But he was reduced to a bench role last season after the arrival of Luis Suarez.
