Liverpool’s disappointing outing against Crystal Palace yesterday was made even worse by the injury blow to defender Mamadou Sakho.
The Frenchman, who landed awkwardly on his right knee after executing an aerial challenge, tried to shrug off the pain but was eventually substituted in the 39th minute.
Jurgen Klopp admitted that Mamadou Sakho’s injury was the worst part of the defeat. “We don’t want to speculate, but we have to wait for a scan. I’d rather lose 4-1 and keep him in the team,” Klopp added.
Since his arrival, Klopp has already lost the services of Joe Gomez and Danny Ings until the end of the season because of a knee ligament injuries. With Joe Flanagan, Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Kolo Toure and now, Mamadou Sakho in the treatment room.
