Few have had a more ignominious fall from grace than England international and Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey. The former Liverpool player looked to have the world at his feet as he broke in to the starting lineup at the Merseyside club, but was eventually deemed surplus to the side by Brendan Rodgers. And after a few good performances with Swansea, he was then sold to the Tyneside club in 2015.
At Newcastle though, the man looks to be rediscovering his form again; his involvement in Newcastle’s 6-0 thrashing of QPR last night was a testament to that.
Newcastle went absolutely rampant at a beleaguered QPR side, inflicting upon them their biggest home defeat and giving the Geordies their biggest away win.
But the pick of the goals was the third one, scored by Shelvey. Spaniard Ayoze Perez was allowed to control a long ball on his chest, which he then laid unto the path of Shelvey, who let fly an absolute stunner, an inch-perfect 25 yard curler into the top corner.
Some dark magic from Voldemort right here, check out the goal below!
