Newcastle United fans would already know, but they have a real talented striker in their books in Adam Armstrong. The Academy graduate, who spent last season on loan at Coventry City and scored 20 goals in 40 appearances, was rewarded with a new contract in the summer before being sent out on loan to promotion rivals Barnsley.
The Geordie has started his Championship career with a bang and his performances for the new club makes it quite obvious why he was so highly sought after in the summer.
After his brilliant debut goal last week against Preston North End, the striker was at it again, scoring the only goal for his side during the 2-1 Reading loss yesterday.
The England Under-19 international struck a sweet low volley from outside the box and found the bottom corner, beyond the reach of the Reading goalkeeper. Check out the goal below!
It will be interesting to watch how things pan out in January, when his loan deal comes to an end; because right now he looks more of a threat to his parent club, putting in great showings for Newcastle’s promotion rivals Barnsley.
