Celtic were made to huff and puff in their Betfred Cup quarter final win against minnows Alloa Athletic at Parkhead last night. The part timers looked to be in the match, until late goals from James Forrest and Moussa Dembele scored to seal a 2-0 win for the club.
The pick of the goals was Dembele’s solo goal in the 90th minute to kill off the match. The twenty-year-old pulled off a superb Cruyff turn to evade his marker and then made a brilliant mazy run into the box to finish things off with a thumping right-footer into the top corner.
With three goals in four games for Celtic this season, Brendan Rodgers seems to have made an astute signing in the talented, world-class French youngster.
