Voted second best goalkeeper in the league last season by Bundesliga players, Lorius Karius gave a solid performance overall and kept a clean sheet on his Liverpool debut against Derby County in the EFL Cup this week.

The German shot-stopper was seen at aggressive starting positions to supplement Liverpool’s attack and was also quick off the line, evident in his tackle on the onrushing Darren Bent just before half-time.
And Jurgen Klopp has rewarded the youngster for his display with the starting berth against Hull this weekend, thus relegating their long-standing keeper Simon Mignolet to the bench in the process.

Ruthless from the German gaffer at the helm as the Belgian isn’t exactly out of form and haven’t made any errors unlike last season. But it seems the new goalkeeper is more suited to Liverpool’s style of play and Klopp looks not the one to hesitate to make a tough decision.
Check out the reaction from the fans below!
Klopp's dropping of Mignolet is not only ruthless, but the right decision, even if Karius makes a howler, or two. He's our long term No1.

Klopp is ruthless. Has only LFCs interest at heart, not individual's. Haven't had such decisiveness in a long time pic.twitter.com/4C6hzWRiZY

Great to see Jurgen Klopp being so ruthless opting for Loris Karius tomorrow. Simon Mignolet an adequate goalkeeper, but not the right fit.

Klopp's decision to go with Karius will make the rest of the squad sit up and take notice #Ruthless

Not harsh at all mate. Karius was bought as no.1. Migs been consistently rubbish. Klopp is ruthless, had to happen. https://t.co/N4KYJpHEha

Klopp is wining me over with these ruthless decisions. Skrtel gone and now Mignolet to be dropped at the earliest opportunity.

making mistakes & learning from them is fine, conceding the same type of goals for years isn't, love how ruthless Klopp is
