Arsenal cruised to their 4th consecutive victory in all competitions, beating Swiss Champions Basel 2-0 at the Emirates last night. The win sees them take the first place in the group and gives them a chance to seal progress to the next round ahead of a double header with minnows Ludogorets.
The win came courtesy of a brace from Theo Walcott with Alexis Sanchez bagging the two assists. But there was an equally important player in the midfield, who continuously linked the play between Arsenal’s flying duo- Mesut Ozil.
The German put up another impressive display, pulling strings in the attacking third and keeping the Arsenal machine ticking. There have been rumours of a new bumper deal being offered to him, and one could see why.
There was one particular turn that was worthy of a new contract in itself. In one swift motion, the 27-year-old turned away from his marker, producing an exquisite twist and set off towards the penalty area.
