Few players have divided opinion like Jonjo Shelvey. After underwhelming performances at Liverpool and Swansea City, it never came as a surprise that he was deemed surplus and was eventually sold off to a Newcastle side in a dire need for a central midfielder.
However, it was always evident that the Englishman had what it takes to be genuinely world-class. He has been showing glimpses of his ability in the black and white jersey and has even been the captain of the side on a few occasions.
And the 24 year old did his reputation no harm with his adorable celebration during Newcastle’s winner against Norwich City.
The Toon ran out 4-3 winners after 2 goals deep into extra time on Wednesday. Needless to say, the scenes after the winning goal were wild with Mitrovic pulling a neck-breaker on Dwight Gayle.
But Jonjo Shelvey, who provided crucial passes before both the injury time goals, was seen celebrating the goal with a ball-boy, little away from the Mitrovic madness.
Check out the picture below! Newcastle have now moved up to 3rd position on the table and will face Rotherham United on Saturday.
