Sly dog Ronald Koeman sneaks in a message for his Everton players with a gym selfie

Ronald Koeman has always been known to be a disciplinarian when it comes to the game, both as a player and as a coach. The Dutchman was appointed the manager of Everton this summer with the club still reeling from their disappointing 11th place finish under Roberto Martinez last season.

The Koeman effect is already evident as Everton sit on the fifth place on the table, just two points off utter rivals Liverpool.

The players are also happy with their coach, with them having spoken of “raised standards” and “elevated team spirit” in the gushing praise of the gaffer.

And it looks like the Dutchman is not letting his lads forget about their work ethic, even in the international break. In a sneaky message to his players, the manager posted a gym selfie, in front of the quote “hard work will beat talent, if talent does not work hard”, with the caption “true text about talent”.

His players will be reminded of the tough task they face to secure European football next season with the League becoming even more competitive this time around.
