Guiseley’s National League fixture against York City saw the bottom placed club put six past their Yorkshire neighbours. It was Guiseley’s first league victory since April and the manner of their astounding victory saw the club trending on Twitter.
Among the many goals scored, Leeds loanee Alex Purver grabbed an absolute beauty of a goal in the 22nd minute.
After being played in by Jordan Preston, the midfielder promptly slotted the ball first time into the far right corner of the goal to give Guiseley a 2-1 lead. The goal saw Guiseley stake their dominance into the game which they eventually won 6-1.
