On the back of signing a humongous kit deal with giants Nike, Antonio Conte and Chelsea are under immediate pressure to translate this feel-good atmosphere around the club into results on the pitch.
Chelsea haven’t been impressive this season, after starting brightly, but then faltering off the top four. They are placed 7th in the league going into matchday 8, and host defending champions Leicester City this weekend.
Although they are under scrutiny already, the mood around the training ground seems to be jolly. This was clear in a recent Instagram banter between Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi and young midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah.
Michy started it, posting a photo of him taking a freekick, with Chalobah and and David Luiz watching- the caption was a brag, in which the striker jokingly referred to himself as a “master”. Chalobah was quick to put him down, commenting on the alleged fact that the freekick went flying over the crossbar. Check out the response below!
The mood around the club seems to be vibrant, ahead of a difficult clash; and it is sure that they would need to maintain this psyche if they are to mount a solid title challenge.
