“Ran as hard as he could” – West Ham fans impressed with Simone Zaza display during Palace win (Tweets)

West Ham came away with three vital points from Selhurst Park as Slaven Bilic’s side defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 last night. The goal came courtesy of midfielder Manuel Lanzini’s lovely effort in the first half and the Hammers held on to their lead to win the game despite the dismissal of Aaron Cresswell.

The match was a tight affair, decided by the finer aspects of both teams. The injuries to West Ham striker Andy Carroll meant that the ponytailed hustler was ruled out of the match, and Slaven Bilic had to play Italian Simone Zaza up front.

And although Zaza has not yet gotten on the scoresheet for his new club, the Juventus man has been impressing fans and critics alike with his impressive work-rate.

This famed aspect of his playing style was evident once more on Saturday, as he hustled and bustled around the Palace back-line, chasing down even their goalkeeper with a gusto that drew showers of praise from many fans.

Few supported the Italian on his arrival to the Hammers on the back of his embarrassing penalty miss at the Euros, but he is definitely proving his worth to his coach. It will always be better if he scores too, though.
