Stats reveal Ander Herrera might just had his best game in a Man Utd shirt last night

The much hyped Liverpool-Manchester United derby ended in a stalemate for the first time in 22 league matches as Manchester United’s counter press effectively stifled out Klopp’s gegenpressing heavy metal football.

On a night where chances were premium for both sides, it was United’s Spaniards who shone through with De Gea and Herrera excellent throughout the closely fought contest.

Herrera in particular gave an exemplary performance bossing the midfield and contributing equally in offense and defence. The stats from last night game show just how influential the Spaniard was throughout the match. The midfielder made a whopping 11 interceptions (more than any player this season in a single game) coupled with 3 clearances.

He also had a 100% successful take-on rate completing all of his five take-ons along with 16 tackles and 50 passes.

The Spaniard was so good on the night, that fans took to Twitter claiming that former Athletic Bilbao man perhaps played his best game in a Manchester United shirt.
