Pics: Rugby equipment is being used by Liverpool to get Loris Karius prepared for Premier League’s physicality

Liverpool’s failings with high balls and crosses this season have been well documented and it does look like the Anfield side are doing all they can to deal with it after goalkeeping coach John Achterberg was pictured challenging Karius for high balls at the club’s training ground holding a

The Reds current number 1 only recently arrived this summer from Mainz 05 and even though the German has performed reasonably well, he has at times looked susceptible from crosses and his lack of authority has also contributed to Liverpool’s set-piece woes.

Manager Jurgen Klopp stressed on the importance of the training regime saying that the young keeper needed to be in-tune with the physicality of English football.

Liverpool currently sit joint top of the Premier League along with Manchester City and Arsenal.
