Nigeria took on their Algerian counterparts for the World Cup Qualifying Group B match in Uyo last night. The match was riddled with former and current Premier League stars, and the quality was there to show for it.
The match had a couple of brilliant goals, but the pick of them was Nabil Bentaleb’s stunning piledriver. The Tottenham loanee, who currently plies his trade at Schalke 04, had been on great form coming into the match, and translated that successfully to the international stage.
Riyad Mahrez drew away a couple of the opposition defenders with some trickery, before laying the ball off for Bentaleb. The young midfielder then unleashed a venomous strike from 35 yards, and the keeper had no chance of saving it.
Though, the goal could not rescue the Algerians from slipping to a 3-1 defeat, check it out below!
