Tottenham youngster Dylan Duncan made a surprise appearance in England’s final training session ahead of Tuesday’s friendly against Spain.
The 17 year old who has yet to make an appearance for Tottenham’s senior side was included for a 11 versus 11 training session to make up for Rooney and Ryan Bertrand sitting out due to injury.
With the England squad in need of numbers for the 11 v 11 match, FA director of elite development Dan Ashworth apparently asked for a player from Tottenham’s U-21 side and it was Duncan who got the nod ahead of others.
The youngster was spotted running out for the training session with Tottenham academy graduate Andros Townsend.
While the youngster is yet to make a breakthrough, the fact that he was called up albeit for a training session goes to show that the Tottenham staff regard highly of Duncan.
