The Premier League in general benefits greatly from broadcasting games to the Asian market. This summer, both Manchester United and Manchester City were scheduled to meet in an International Champions Cup game in China in a game that would have delighted their Chinese fans and fans worldwide.
Sadly, the match was eventually called off due to pitch concerns and bad weather hampering the playing conditions.
In what can be seen as a positive gesture, it was recently revealed that Manchester United compensated fans that travelled to China for the game by giving away signed home shirts.
