Current league leaders Liverpool make the tricky trip to St. Mary’s on Saturday in a match that will see summer signing Saido Mane make his bow against former club Southampton.
Liverpool have been one of the most in-form teams in the league this season losing just once and are on an eight match unbeaten streak in the league, their latest win coming in the 6-1 demolition of Watford before the international break.
Southampton meanwhile has had a relatively poor start by their standards winning on just three occasions this season. Claude Puel’s men will however be looking to capitalise on their home advantage with the Saints boasting an enviable home record having lost just once in 11 games at St. Mary’s.
For Liverpool, Coutinho and Lallana remains doubtful due to injuries sustained during international duty but Dejan Lovren is available for selection having recovered from a virus problem. Meanwhile for Southampton, midfielder Dusan Tadic is available to play despite a suffering a broken nose during international duty but Cedric Soares, James Ward-Prowse, Ryan Bertrand and Shane Long are all doubtful for the clash.
