After being a mainstay in the starting lineup last season, Mamadou Sakho fell out with Jurgen Klopp after he was judged to have consumed a banned substance, and received a 30-day suspension. The judging was later overturned, but the midfielder’s attitude and poor timekeeping skills meant that he never played under Klopp again.
The former PSG man has been banished to train and play with the U23s this season, and has put in a few strong showings for the team.
The Frenchman got on the scoresheet last night after slide tackling the ball inside the net from 3 yards out during Liverpool U23s win over Reading. Liverpool won 2-0 with Ben Woodburn scoring the other goal
