Chelsea created history even before they had stepped up on the field against Middlesbrough last night

As Chelsea traveled to Middlesbrough on Sunday, the spotlight was on them; this was their first clear-cut chance all season to go top of the table. The Blues have had a fairytale resurgence under Antonio Conte and it looked to be seen whether a resilient Boro side could halt the run.

The match was not a cakewalk for the Blues, but a goal from the League top scorer Diego Costa was enough to see off the newly-promoted side.

The belief Antonio Conte had in his players were evident, as he started the same eleven for the fifth consecutive match. That statistic speaks volumes about the strength of their current lineup, as this was the first time Chelsea had ever done that in the Premier League, in all of their illustrious history.
