After a disappointing defeat at the hands of table-toppers Newcastle United in their last outing, Leeds United will be looking to gain their momentum back as they take on Rotherham on Saturday.
Forward Pablo Hernandez will miss the trip to Yorkshire with a hamstring injury and his loss could result in a gain for 25 year old Marcus Antonsson.
The Swede was a summer signing from Kalmar FF, arriving with a prolific record of 22 goals in 41 games; but he has not yet translated that form into the Championship, with only 3 goals in 12 appearances for Leeds’ senior side.
However, Antonsson started for Leeds’ U23 side against rivals Huddersfield Town on Monday, and single-handedly dragged his team through to a 3-2 win.
He scored a “perfect” hattrick- a left-footed curled shot, a right-footed equalizer, and a headed winner late in the match to break the hearts of their fierce rivals.
Check out the hat-trick, especially Antonsson’s second goal, in the highlights of the game below!
