Arsenal blew their chance to finish as group toppers for the first time in six years as PSG earned a well-deserved point last night at the Emirates. The match ended 2-2, with Arsenal now needing a better result from their trip to Basel than PSG, who host Bulgarian minnows Ludogorets to finish at the top.
The attacking trio of Sanchez, Ozil and Giroud combined to get Arsenal on the scoresheet in the first half via a penalty. Mesut Ozil lingered outside the box to spot the runs of his forwards Sanchez and Giroud and the German then played a superb reverse pass to Sanchez, who had made an unmarked run into the box – completely fooling the opposition.
The Chilean then fell over and a penalty was awarded which Giroud ensured that it found the back of the net.
