A terrific start to the season saw Tottenham touted by many as being genuine title contenders this season. Yet a winless run of 10 matches in all competitions has seen their title ambitions fade into obscurity and left fans clamouring where it all went wrong.
Many fans have been quick to point to the poor transfer activity this summer with the new arrivals yet to make the sort of impact expected of them.
Sissoko in particular has been poor, with the France international yet to score a goal or make an assist for Spurs. Last weekend the midfielder was openly criticized by manager Mauricio Pochettino for having failed to meet the standards expected of him.
Elsewhere, Belgian midfielder Nacer Chadli who was allowed to leave Spurs this summer has been outstanding for West Brom with 4 goals and 2 assists in 8 games so far for his new club.
Fans will have been none too pleased with the fact that the club let leave a very useful versatile player for a player who at this moment seems miles away from making any sort of impact on the team.

Still haunting to think the money spent on Sissoko, as frustrating as they we're we could've kept both Chadli & Sigurðsson at Spurs.#THFC

Chadli left the football club And then we spent 30 m on sissoko. And let's be fair he couldn't lace Chadli's boots.

Sissoko for Chadli looking like a more terrible decision by the day. #THFC

@RickSpur Clearly it was. Sissoko is not as good or hard a worker as Chadli. What a waste of money again because we won't stump up top £

Spurs selling Chadli and replacing with Sissoko at a net cost of £18 mill. Surely one of the worst bits of business of all time?

@RickSpur Chadli frustrated me beyond reason, but what on earth does £30m Sissoko bring to the squad over him? Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
