Arsenal finally won their Champions League group for the first time in 5 years as a Lucas Perez hat-trick inspired the Gunners to a 4-1 victory at St. Jakob-Park on Wednesday.
On a night where they needed nothing less than victory, Arsenal were at their aesthetic best playing some brilliant football with the build up to Lucas Perez’s second of the night being the pick of the bunch.
Arsenal made an incredible 33 passes involving all 11 players before Perez slotted home for his and Arsenal’s second of the night. The move set a new record for most passes involving a goal in the Champions League this season.
The victory coupled with PSG’s slip up at home to Ludogorets meant that Arsenal progressed into the next round as Group A winners where the fans would hope prospect of an easier tie awaits them.
