The Liverpool-West Ham fixture saw the Reds drop valuable points at home thanks largely to a horror-show from goalkeeper Loris Karius. The German has come in for some criticism from pundits like Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher, and this kind of performance wouldn’t have helped his case in the slightest.
However, there was another error that took place right before kick-off, committed not by any player, but by the Premier League graphics team.
Normally as reliable as they come whilst ensuring that displays and graphics run without errors, they committed two massive and extremely hilarious clangers whilst revealing the line-ups.
Fans who tuned in to the game would have no doubt been confused to see that Roberto Firmino and Dmitri Payet had suddenly started to resemble rival players.
