In what was billed to be a desperate clash between sides struggling for form, Watford took on Everton at Vicarage Road on Saturday. But the match turned out to be anything but boring, with Watford earning the three points with a 3-2 win.
The Toffees opened the scoring through Romelu Lukaku, but the Hornets replied in kind, with three goals, including a brace by Stefano Okaka. And although Lukaku got his brace four minutes from time, it was too little too late.
One of the sweetest moments of the match, especially if you were a Spurs fan, came at full time when the cameras spotted two of Tottenham’s old guard sharing a laugh. The North London club’s former players Heurelho Gomes and Aaron Lennon were on opposing sides, with the goalkeeper even denying his former teammate on a couple of occasions.
Nostalgia for Spurs fans as Gomes was seen shouting “Azza!”, Aaron Lennon’s apparent nickname, and embracing the man after the game. Check out the video below!
