Arturo Vidal’s standing as one of the best midfielders in world football right now is unquestionable. The Chilean international has already enjoyed a stellar career in Bayern Munich despite only being in his second season at the German club. However, transfer rumours have recently surfaced linking him to Premier League table toppers Chelsea.
The rumour makes some sense only because Antonio Conte, the current Chelsea manager, was the one who turned Vidal into the world-class midfielder he is today.
The Chilean was one of Conte’s trusted lieutenants during his spell at Juventus and that time is still seen by many as the most fruitful period of Vidal’s career.
Such rumours surface all the time and many times, and more often than not nothing comes of it. However, Vidal added fuel to the fire by liking a picture of his Juventus days on Instagram that was accompanied by a caption stating that Conte wanted to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
