Newcastle United secured a spot in the fourth round of the FA Cup for the first time in five seasons by beating Birmingham City with a formidable score of 3-1 last night.

Although Ritchie and Gouffran had their names on the scoresheet, it was Jonjo Shelvey who stole the show on his comeback. Back from a 5 match ban, Shelvey was everywhere: play making and assisting, while being a complete thorn for Birmingham City’s backline.

And outside of his assist and the filthy 40 yard through pass which won Newcastle the penalty, there was one sensational incident that made his return even more memorable.
