Dimitri Payet’s unprecedented antics have earned him permanent disrepute, and the writing on the wall couldn’t be more clear this time. Literally!
After deploying a guard to prevent vandalism on Payet’s mural on London Stadium’s outer façade following his exit to Marseille, West Ham have decided to permanently solve this problem by replacing the Frenchman’s image with striker Andy Carroll’s wonder goal against Crystal Palace.
Carroll had converted Antonio’s cross into a sensational overhead bicycle kick during West Ham’s 3-0 win over Crystal Palace two weeks ago, and a replica of the moment seems to be the perfect way to cover up the bad episode of Payet for the club.
Apart from capturing the sensational goal that it was, West Ham have surrounded Carroll’s mural with fans’ praises that the goal had widely received all over social media.
