Manchester United’s dull 0-0 draw against Hull City midweek dealt a serious blow to their chances of making the top 4. Jose Mourinho’s side looked uninspired against a Hull side that had come prepared to take away a hard-earned point and the visitors did just that.
Whilst it is undoubtedly a bad result for the Red Devils, the Tigers can take solace from a very good team performance that saw the side defend for their lives and block out United’s attacking avenues.
Among the Hull players who started that game was Liverpool loanee Lazar Markovic. The former Benfica man has struggled after becoming a Liverpool player, with many doubting his ability and industry.
However, the Serbian had his working boots on against United, including this sequence of play where he busted his lungs to track back, then executed a perfect slide tackle.
