Midweek Championship fixture saw Leeds keep their promotion hopes alive with a 2-1 win against strugglers Blackburn.
After a goal-less first half, Stuart Dallas put Leeds ahead in the 74th minute, only to see Elliot Bennett’s long shot securing an equalizer for Blackburn.
The two sides could have been forced to settle for a draw but Pontus Janssen had other plans, as the Swedish defender snatched a victory for Leeds with a very late header that left fans wild in celebration.
The club announced yesterday that the 25 year-old had agreed to convert his season-long loan from Torino into a permanent contract that would keep him at Elland Road until 2020 at least.
But majority of the traveling supporters knew about that beforehand as Pontus had indicated the completion of the deal after the match. The Swede went up to fans after the full time whistle and confirmed the signing of his new contract.
