Tonight’s game against Tottenham is one of the most important fixtures for Liverpool this season. After 10 matches across all competitions, Liverpool F.C. have just won one game in 2017, against the lowly Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup.
During this barren run, they have dropped from second in the standings, where they were challenging Chelsea for the title, to fifth and have also crashed out of both the cup competitions.
After the demoralising defeats suffered at the hands of teams like Hull City and Wolverhampton Wanderers, the morale is at the lowest among Reds supporters. A win against the high flying Spurs would not only boost the confidence of the team, but it will bring back the belief and hope that was being associated with this Liverpool team in the initial stages of this campaign.
Klopp will no doubt be extremely confident as his favoured offensive three of Coutinho, Mane and Firmino are fully fit and expected to start. In midfield, Henderson and Wijnaldum are also expected to retain their places.
Although, Dejan Lovren & Adam Lallana are both injury doubts for the game. Loris Karius is also rumoured to be in contention to start following Simon Mignolet’s error last weekend.
