Manchester United kept their fight for a Champions League spot alive after a good 2-0 win against Watford at Old Trafford last night. The victory provided some relief to manager Jose Mourinho whose change of tactics, according to many, finally appeared to show glimpses Sir Alex Ferguson’s glorious era.
Another person at Manchester for whom this win proved to be very crucial was midfielder Anthony Martial, who was an unused substitute in United’s last two games and was desperate to prove his worth again.
The Frenchman marked his return and reminded Mourinho of his talents by not only placing is name on the scoresheet, but even by assisting Juan Mata’s goal in the first half.
Martial’s willingness to make a mark for his club was evident from his goal celebration, and his gesture of patting United’s club crest earned him major brownie points amongst fans.
