Celtic loanee Ryan Christie bangs in a stunning outside of the boot goal during Aberdeen’s 7-2 mauling of Motherwell (Video)

Absolute mayhem could be the only way to describe Motherwell’s predicament after last night’s 7-2 thrashing at the hands of Aberdeen. Adam Rooney won the match ball with a brilliant hattrick while Jonny Hayes, Andrew Considine, Ryan Christie and Peter Pawlett also found themselves on target.

Motherwell did somehow manage to score two goals courtesy of Ryan Bowman and Stephen Pearson, but it was too little and too late as the game was inevitably done and dusted for Marc McGhee’s boys in the first half itself.

Among the plethora of goals, one that stole the show belonged to Ryan Christie. The Celtic loanee scored a stunner in the 40th minute with an effortlessly deft chip from the outside of his left foot.

With this result, the Dons overtook Rangers by three points to climb up to the second place just behind table toppers Celtic, while Aberdeen continue languishing in the ninth spot.
