In the world of British football journalism, there has always been a long history of fans clashing with daily tabloids for their controversial reportage.
The Sun, for example, has previously been subject of massive criticism by Liverpool fans who have also called or its boycott as well.
And if their recent article calling for Arsenal squad’s cull is given deeper scrutiny, The Sun is now going to draw the wrath of Gooners too.
The newspaper recently came up with a full page feature titled “Gunners: A Team in Crisis” suggesting which players should leave Arsenal and which ones should stay following the club’s dismal loss to Bayern Munich.
Comparing players’ statistics, the tabloid suggested 14 Gunners who need to be booted out of the club, a ridiculous list that included integral players like Ox, Ozil, Monreal and new boy Granit Xhaka.
