Whilst the Europa League isn’t exactly the ideal place to be for a club like Manchester United, they haven’t exactly been complacent during the tournament. Jose Mourinho does rotate his squad due to the rigours of playing on Thursday’s, but by and large the Red Devils seemingly take the tournament seriously enough.
This was evident during their Round of 32 match against St. Etienne. United cruised to a comfortable 3-0 victory over the French side on the back of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s first hat-trick for the club. However, the Swedish striker showed his class in a slightly different manner towards the end of the match.
Receiving the ball inside the penalty area, he pulled off a sick scoop turn to not only engineer a change in direction but also left a defender almost for dead. What’s even more amazing is that he pulled it off with little effort, proving that class is indeed permanent, at least in his case.
