In recent years, Liverpool’s transfer strategy has revolved largely around scouting for potential young talent and then giving them a chance in the first team.
This strategy has remained in place since Jurgen Klopp took over, with the German favouring young players who were willing to give their all for the team. It was this strategy that led them to sign Marko Grujic; dubbed “the next Matic” by many, the signing of the young Serbian was a coup for the Anfield side.
