A sole goal from star striker Chris Wood was enough to hand Leeds United a hard-fought but important win against rivals Sheffield Wednesday. The win kept Leeds in the play-off spots and more importantly, it showed the kind of character the side were made of having gutted out such a win.
However, the result could have been very different had it not been for the heroics from an unlikely source in Rob Green. The former English international is more known for his blunders than for having safe hands, so when Leeds conceded a penalty early in the second half, many were rightfully nervous.
Up stepped Jordan Rhodes to take the spot kick and amazingly, Green pulled off a pretty good save to keep the score in favour of his side. A fan recently posted a video from right behind the goal as the penalty happened, and the sight of Leeds fans maniacally celebrating the save is amazing to behold.
