Newcastle fans take a second to appreciate Matt Ritchie’s Pirlo-esque pass to Atsu during Brighton winner (Tweets)

When 2700 Newcastle United fans made a long 700-mile round trip to Brighton, they returned back home with a memorable victory and the tag of Championship table leaders.

A Glenn Murray penalty placed the home side on a comfortable lead just 13 minutes from kick-off and even opened up chances for Brighton to go 4 points clear on the top, but Rafa Bentiez’s determined men clearly had other plans.

With just 10 minutes left on the clock, fortune smiled on the Magpies and Mo Daime’s freakish luck helped him cruise the ball into the net.

As if this late equalizer wasn’t enough, Spaniard Ayoze Perez came on to seal a win for his side just a minute before full time. The real credit for Perez’s late finish, however, should go to Matt Ritchie’s sensational 60 yard Pirlo-esque cross that beautifully found Atsu at the edge of the box.
