It was in October last year that media stories had reported Arsene Wenger’s keen interest in signing a young Chilean player despite his unsuccessful trial with Arsenal.
Although things didn’t work out in the player’s favour then, it certainly looks like Arsenal could now finally go on to sign 17 year old Marcello Allende soon.
The highly-rated young midfielder, who found his way up the ranks at Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez’s former club Cobreloa, is also the Captain of Chile’s Under-17 national side.
Allende has previously led his country into the round of 16 during 2015’s Under-17 World Cup, after which he caught the attention of many top football clubs.
It was also reported by media outlets that the youngster had approached his national hero Sanchez for some advice, to which Alexis had asked Marcello to beef up and improve his game.
