When it comes to youngsters who carry the potential to be future greats, Tottenham Hotspur lack no talent, and that was clearly evident during their U-18 team’s last game yesterday.
Tottenham’s young guns ended Newcastle United Under-18’s run the FA Youth Cup quarter-final match with a resounding 3-5 victory at St. James’ Park.
Apart from brilliant goal-scoring performances and some brave fighting spirt from both sides, if there was one player who grabbed all the limelight onto himself, it was Tottenham winger Keanan Bennetts.
The 17 year old single-handedly demolished the Magpies’ morale early in the game with a sensational goal that had Arjen Robben written all over it.
Just three minutes from kick-off, when a Newcastle defender stood between Bennetts and the goal, the winger displayed some serious skills with his mad sidesteps and went on to curl in a beautiful left-footed strike from the edge of the box.
