There was plenty of heartbreak for Arsenal fans last night in the Champion’s League. Already facing the unenviable task of overturning a four goal deficit against Bayern Munich, the Gunners’ faithful were left stunned as their team went down with yet another 5-1 defeat.
The fans displeasure was evident with a protest march against Arsene Wenger carried out before the match. The shocking loss would not have helped matters as a mass exodus before full time was witnessed at the Emirates Stadium.
Amidst all the anger and frustration with accusations of players not trying hard enough, it’s easy to forget that the players themselves are human at times. No one embodied that sentiment, and the pain of their embarrassment, better than Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who was absolutely distraught after the match.
