To say that it’s been a rough season for Rangers would be an understatement. Financial problems have affected the on-field performances of the squad throughout the season and even though they are third, Rangers are a staggering 33 points behind league leaders and bitter rivals Celtic.
The manager situation has also suffered as a result. Currently being headed by caretaker manager Graeme Murty after Mark Warburton left, the club are all but set to appoint a new manager in Pedro Caixinha, who has previously had successful spells with Mexican club Santos Laguna.
However, it is his time at Laguna that has ensured Caixinha’s appointment will start off on the wrong note. Given how deep the Old Firm rivalry still runs, Rangers fans will surely not appreciate a tweet that was posted in 2015 on Laguna’s account that features a video of Caixinha congratulating his “Celtic brothers” on their recent SPL victory.
