Embarrassing if true – Arsenal fans have organised a ‘no new contract’ banner to be flown over the Hawthorns next week

Arsenal fans have endured a rough week. Having lost 3-1 to Liverpool last weekend and all but ensuring that they won’t be competing for the title this season, they then ended up losing to Bayern Munich 5-1, again, and suffered a humiliating 10-2 aggregate defeat in the Champions League round of 16.

Hence, their frustration – that led to one fan actually punching his TV – is very understandable. That being said, their way of expressing said frustration is not.

Plans made by certain Arsenal fan accounts on Twitter call for the side to fly a plane over the Hawthorns next week during their game against West Bromwich Albion.

The plane will have a banner with “no new contract” written over it, which is in reference to the new 2-year deal Wenger has supposedly been offered.

It’s amusing to think that the same fans who trolled sections of Liverpool and United fans when they did the same have now resorted to these silly tactics.

See the proof of these plans here:

  1. The only thing to get this club in the right direction again is to get rid of Kroenke and Wenger!!!
    WE NEED CHANGE NOW!!!

  2. I sort of have this odd feeling that all these protests may, in fact, come out to be counterproductive in the end. Wenger is a proud man, so for all he believes he has done for the club, he may refuse to be pushed out. And with the board behind him, these protesters and their ilk may be fighting a losing battle.
