When Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined Manchester United in the summer, many United fans were rightfully excited about the fact that one of the Bundesliga’s most exciting attackers was being added to the fore. And whilst it took him some time, he’s quickly established himself as a force to be reckoned with.
Indeed, Mkhitaryan is the kind of player United needed. Whilst there are a number of wingers and attacking midfielders present at the club, no one can perform the role that the Armenian international does.
Indeed, this was the sentiment echoed by former United youth player Danny Higginbotham.
The ex-defender doesn’t hold back on his praise on the former Borussia Dortmund man, stating that he is essentially a combination of four of United’s best attackers. Given the shaky start Mkhitaryan had to his career at Old Trafford, it is refreshing to see the winger get some much deserved praise.
Speaking with Sky Sports, see what Higginbotham had to say about him below:
He is very important. He brings to Manchester United something that no other player can do. He has pace to get in behind.
Mata and Herrera have good vision but haven’t got that pace. Martial and Rashford have the pace but sometimes don’t have the final pass. Mkhitaryan is a mixture of them both.
