Situation looks grim for Jordan Henderson as the Liverpool captain was seen on crutches before Burnley game

Liverpool fans avert your eyes; this is probably the last thing you want to see.

Reds’ Skipper Jordan Henderson was pictured with crutches last night. The former Sunderland midfielder has had a history of heel problems and his latest foot injury appears to be quite severe; surmising from appearances, he seems to be in for quite a hiatus from the pitch.

Henderson is viewed as a vital member of Jurgen Klopp’s system as he brings not only leadership and organisational skills but is also crucial in breaking up opposition attacks and setting up play with his passing and vision.

Liverpool have been sorely missed his presence with a nightmare start to 2017 which has seen them seemingly slip out of title contention. With Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino also missing training due to injuries and plenty of games still to go, the Anfield faithful will be hoping that this picture doesn’t tell the whole story.
